1. Asal Usul Badik adalah senjata tradisional Melayu Makassar, Bugis dan Mandar di Sulawesi Selatan yang berukuran pendek. Senjata ini dikenal pula di daerah Patani, Thailand Selatan, dengan sebutan badek. Bentuknya serupa dengan badik Bugis, sehingga diduga badek Patani ini berasal dari Bugis. Wooden hilt with a silver ferrule. Scabbard in wood with a 3 piece silver covering decorated with embossed intricately foliated scrolls. Pamor blade.

BADIK BAD02

Sulawesi, Bugis, overall 25 cm, blade 17 cm, hilt 9 cm -0199D40-

Wooden hilt with a silver ferrule. Sheath in wood with a slight protuberance at its mouth. Pamor blade with a straight back and a convex edge towards the point. Pamor is of the adeg type.

Silver mount Badik, embossed with intricately foliated scrolls. European re-shaped blade engraved "1776".

Buffalo horn hilt. Straight pamor blade. Wooden sheath with two horn fittings at each end.

Wooden hilt with a knob (tampo). Wooden sheath. Iron blade.

Sumatra, Aceh, overall 23 cm, blade 14 cm, hilt 6.5 cm -0200D95-

Buffalo horn hilt similar to those of the Tumbuk Lada. Two piece wooden sheath bounded with a rattan strap.

Sumba (?), overall 28 cm, blade 15.5 cm, hilt 10.5 cm -0705D54-

Buffalo horn hilt representing a bird. Scimitar shaped steel blade. Two piece wooden sheath, with a lizard is carved in the middle. It looks like Sumba work with Bugis influence. Nice piece of the second half XXth century.
